Turfcare WA's non-chemical weed control method is an exclusively non-chemical process that utilises two modes of action; boiling water and steam to effectively eliminate weeds. This unique dual action transfers lethal heat into the cell structures of the plant. This induces a protein shock that destroys the plant cell wall, causing it to wither and die.

This eco-friendly alternative to conventional chemical weed control treatments is delivered to local governments, educational institutes, sports clubs and other commercial companies across Western Australia. Our highly qualified and knowledgeable team provide this service to all hardstand areas such as:

  • Kerbing
  • Footpaths
  • Verges
  • Paths
  • Walkways
  • Traffic islands
  • Roads
  • Car parks

‘We are very excited by the prospects of being able to deliver more sustainable and environmentally friendly options to our clients. We have been monitoring and testing the non-chemical weed control space over the past 5 years and the KECKEX method is by far the most effective technology in the industry. ’ – Michael Maartensz, Director Turfcare WA

KECKEX Technology

Turfcare WA is the only Company in Western Australia who has acquired the world renowned KECKEX HAKO 1600 Module. This unit is a road licenced vehicle that provides our clients with quality and cost-effective weed control options for open spaces such as roads, footpaths, and verges. In addition, we also have the KECKEX Jespi Pedestrian Operated Module which provides our clients with non-chemical weed control options for smaller or more confined spaces.

This recently acquired KECKEX technology is the market’s most efficient and natural method in the space of non-chemical weed control. The KECKEX heats water to 130-degree Celsius and creates a hot steam mixture which consists of approximately 70% boiling water and 30% steam. This dual action system heats and insulates the soil, to ensure that the water temperature is maintained while it is absorbed into the plants cell structure.

Unlike more conventional weed control methods, this technology offers our clients continuity in wet seasons as it can be used in any weather conditions, meaning treatment can continue even during rainfall, making it unique and fit for purpose for winter, when weeds are at their peak. This process is also safe to be used freely when targeting weeds near water systems or natural areas.
